10 wrong myths about beauty

It's something normal for women if they want to look beautiful. But, when women try hard to look beautiful, there are various wrong advice around beauty. These advice maybe are not dangerous for our health, but they grow misconception and make women chase something that is not exist.
1. Combing hair often will make our hair health and shining.
This is a wrong myth. Combing hair only necessary to fix up woolly hair. Too often comb our hair even can cause hair loss, and makes our hair fragile, dry and breakable.
2. Shave our leg hair can make the hair grow more
Wrong. Shave our leg, armpit and other parts of body only will cut hair on top of our skin. Hair follicles won't damage or torn. So, when hair grow up again, they will grow normally.
3. Pores can be diminished
Wrong. Several maskers such as egg white masker indeed, but it only for temporary. After the effect is gone, our pores will go back to previous size.
4. Eat too much chocolate can cause acne
Another wrong myth. Until now, there is no research that can prove connection between acne and foods. One thing that is clear, eat nutritious foods such as vegetables and fruits can make our skin better.
5. Baby oil can prevent stretch mark
Actually, what can help prevent stretch mark is the massage process that is done when we smear the oil to our skin. When we massage our skin with baby oil, our skin will be stretched without any marks.
6. Higher SPF, better
Not necessarily. The important thing is that your sunscreen has UVA filter (for anti-aging) and UVB (to prevent sunburn). The difference on SPF only to determine how often we should re-smear it on our skin. Higher the SPF, it means it will stay longer on our skin.
7. Skinny women don't have cellulite problems
It's a wrong myth. Cellulite is a skin problem, not fat problem. There are several factors that determine cellulite: heredity problem, hormone, and aging process. Not only do skinny women have cellulite problem, even bigger women will have cellulite problem when they lost their weight drastically.
8. Not necessary to use sunscreen when weather is cloudy.
Just because sunlight doesn't feel hot, it doesn't mean that it's not there. Dangerous UVA light can penetrate clouds, car windshield, window pane. So, it's suggested that we use sunscreen every day.
9. Use makeup can damage our skin.
Most cosmetic brands now are proven safe and won't damage our skin. There are many cosmetics that use noncomedogenic, which means they won't block our pores. Besides that, cosmetic also can protect our skins from dust, pollution, and sunlight.
10. Oily skin doesn't have to use skin moisturizer.
Every skin type needs to use skin moisturizer so it keeps smooth and soft. Even using skin moisturizer is one must do ritual for skin care. If you have oily skin, make sure the moisturizer that you use is free oil skin moisturizer.
